Biography
In her first year of study towards an LLB at UWC, Thaanyah was awarded the Dean’s Merit List Award and became a member of the Top Achievers Programme. Her interest in law was sparked by the human atrocities and inequalities of South Africa’s past and the role the law played in the exploitation and oppression of people, realising her need to play a meaningful role to bring about change. Her participation in the Street Law Society started that journey.
