Biography

As a labour activist, Tirivanhu has represented Labour at various levels locally and internationally. Tirivanhu’s experience in these platforms has taught him that knowledge and skills are important factors for policy dialogue and influence. Zimbabwe tops the international ranks in so far as human rights violations are concerned. The country has a history of abductions, torture, police brutality, arrests of activists and many suppressions of freedoms and rights. A progressive transformation of this toxic order requires capacity for sound and tactical change of laws through litigation and advocacy for policy formulation. That is why he is studying for a Masters in Human Rights Litigation and Advocacy degree. He wants to contribute to shaping a Zimbabwe that is free of Human Rights Abuses.
