The Right Honourable Lord Peter Hain

Biography
Lord Peter Hain was MP for Neath from 1991-2015, serving in the governments of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, holding several Cabinet positions. In November 2015 he was introduced to the House of Lords. Born in Kenya and raised in South Africa, Peter Hain’s family was forced into exile in London in 1966 after his parents were banned for their anti-apartheid activism. He went on to become a leading figure in the British anti-apartheid movement, playing a central role in campaigns to boycott all-white South African sports tours from 1969. He has served as patron of the Canon Collins Trust since June 2016
