Sibili Precious Nsibande

  • University of the Witwatersrand, PhD Inclusive Education

Biography

Since inclusive education is a relatively new concept in Swaziland, there is a lack of general understanding of inclusive education with teachers believing that inclusive education is only limited to the inclusion of children with physical disabilities into the regular school. This limited understanding may promote the exclusion of other vulnerable groups such as OVC, girls, children from low socio-economic backgrounds etc. from academic success. Sibili hopes to close that knowledge gap with her PhD in Inclusive Education. Central to her goal is to be part of a team that trains teachers on inclusive practices such that all children are given the opportunity to succeed academically and in general.
