Sarita Pillay Gonzalez is currently enrolled for her PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand’s School of Architecture and Planning. Her PhD work is focused on understanding the roleplayers in dominant property development that shapes our cities. Sarita’s interests lie in spatial justice and power, and the modes and methods of unpacking these with students and our neighbours. She has experience working as a researcher, and community organiser in spatial justice campaigns. She holds a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota.
