Biography
Professor Katjavivi has dedicated his life to the causes of social justice, education, good governance and democracy. He has built international support for his country and its African neighbours through diplomatic activity. Prof Katjavivi has played a critical role in establishing political stability in Namibia, founding two Namibian universities. He was the founding Vice-
Chancellor of the University of Namibia (UNAM) from 1992-2006 and Professor, Chancellor of the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). He served as Ambassador to the European Union from 2003 to 2006, Ambassador to Germany from 2006 to 2008, and Director General of the National Planning Commission from 2008 to 2010. He was Director General of the National Planning Commission from 2008-2010, and re-entered Parliament in 2010 as Gov Chief Whip.
