Biography

Professor Monwabisi Knowledge Ralarala holds two PhDs from Stellenbosch University and the University of the Free State, focusing on persuasion in African languages and forensic linguistics. He has held various leadership roles including Director of the Fundani Centre for Higher Education Development at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Director of the Language Centre at the University of Fort Hare, and Director of Research and Policy Development at the Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities. He has been awarded the Neville Alexander Award for Promotion of Multilingualism (2017) and is founder and Chief Series Editor of Studies in Forensic Linguistics: Language and the Law in South Africa and Beyond.
