Pretty Ndawo

  • University of Fort Hare, LLB Law

Growing up in a poor community where people were forced to accept the reality of stark socio-economic imbalances, Pretty chose to study law with the hope of challenging social injustices and bringing about reform. She refuses to accept a status quo where women and children are subjected to lives of inequality and constant violation. As the recipient of the 2018 Matrix Chambers scholarship, Pretty will have the opportunity to undertake a month-long work placement at a barristers’ chambers in London upon completion of her degree.
