Biography

Philani Ngubane is a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology candidate at the University of Cape Town. His research focuses on benchmarking exercises at Kinderfonds MAMAS, a Dutch non-profit organisation established at Nelson Mandela’s request to support vulnerable children and families across South Africa. By critically evaluating interventions across multiple domains—health, socioeconomic status, education, employment, exposure to violence, and social relationships—Philani seeks to identify evidence-based practices that promote sustainable and impactful outcomes. He is deeply committed to developing contextually relevant solutions to address the complex challenges faced by youth in low- to middle-income settings, aiming to drive meaningful change and empowerment.
