Biography

Ndzalo Mashabele is doing her Masters of Medical Science (Virology) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She is focused on HIV research, particularly in finding a cure for HIV, as well as vaccination. She believes that HIV research is of paramount importance for the eradication of AIDS as a global epidemic. Her goal is to take a leadership role in HIV research and to be in an environment where knowledge-sharing is encouraged. She is committed to global collaboration within the African research community. She believes that applying diverse perspectives is essential in addressing regional challenges as it breaks down barriers to knowledge and reduces the societal stigma associated with HIV.
