Biography

Nazia is a public health physician who has worked in clinical medicine and health systems initiatives to address priority diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa. She holds a specialist degree in public health medicine from the University of Cape Town. She currently works in global heath at the Centre for Global Heath Research at St Michaels Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Her area of focus is on improving in mortality data in parts of Sub-Saharan Africa. She is a published author who is interested in writing about the world around her. As a Muslim and recent immigrant to Canada, she finds herself learning immensely about new cultures and identities. She is married with two children and cats. She enjoys watching cricket and rugby.

Publishing my first book, “House of Peace”.

Professional Interests

Currently I am working on improving mortality data in Africa. I alos have an interest in health systems strengthening, HIV/ Aids and contraception.
