Biography
Dr Nazia Peer is a Public Health Physician and Director of the Immunization Services Division in the Peel Region of Ontario, Canada. She leads strategic planning and delivery of immunization programs in one of the country’s most diverse regions. Previously, Dr Peer worked across Southern Africa as a Global Public Health Physician, where she led initiatives to improve HIV/AIDS, maternal, neonatal, and child health outcomes. She conducted large epidemiological studies to strengthen death registration data and developed multilingual training for African physicians to improve burden of disease reporting. With a strong focus on capacity building, Dr Peer has trained global physicians in public health leadership, research methods, emergency planning, and evidence-based practice. Her work reflects a deep commitment to health equity and system strengthening in both local and global contexts.
