Biography

Mieke attained her BMus Performing Arts Cum Laude from Nelson Mandela University and is currently studying towards her MMus in Musicology at Stellenbosch University. Her masters research investigates the extent of curricular transformation in South African tertiary music departments post-1994. She is passionate about social justice and how this can be brought about by a more transformed and representative tertiary music curriculum which responds to the South African musical (and social) reality.
