Biography

She is a blind student enrolled for a PhD in psychology at Stellenbosch University. Her research involves a pilot study which aims to provide career counselling to visually impaired adolescents at a special school in South Africa. The prevalence of unemployment under the visually impaired in South Africa is 98%, and those who are employed usually are placed in the sheltered labour market or operate as switchboard operators. However, it is important for all visually impaired individuals to receive career assessment in order to discover their true aptitude.
