Mercy Mupavayenda

Biography

Mercy is a development and gender scholar, researcher and trainer with a focus on gender equality in the media and women’s empowerment as a global development agenda. Her research is informed by the realization that most responses offered to alleviate women’s inequality are in fact rooted in existing patriarchal structures. She holds a BA in Communication Science and a BA Honours in Gender Studies both from UNISA and an MA in Development Studies from Wits University.
