Martin Buck

 

Biography

Prof Buck is a long-time supporter of Canon Collins Trust and a member of the ‘RMTF’ group that raises funds for scholarships in memory of two educationalists from the UK, Ros Moger and Terry Furlong.

He retired recently, after serving as the Head of Secondary, Hackney Learning Trust. He has a specific interest in school improvement and the support of staff through coaching and mentoring programmes, along with the promotion of pupil’s personal and social development as a prerequisite to their academic success.  This has involved academic publications and staff training in this important dimension of school life in partnership with the University of London Goldsmiths College and London South Bank University. His more recent professional work has had focus on examining opportunities to promote better outcomes for black young men in the school system in Hackney and beyond where he has worked in partnership with other London Local Authorities.”
