Biography

Martha Aimwata is a science lecturer and Deputy Director at the International University of Management (IUM). She is passionate about integrating indigenous knowledge (IK) into school and university curricula and actively promotes its role in modern education. Martha is pursuing her PhD at Rhodes University, focusing on equipping pre-service teachers with pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) to effectively integrate IK into Natural Science education. With extensive experience as an educator and leader, Martha is committed to fostering a deeper understanding of cultural knowledge systems and bridging the gap between traditional practices and contemporary teaching methodologies.
