Biography
Mandi Mudarikwa is a Deputy Programme Director: Head of Strategic Litigation, and a member of the management team of the Law and Policy Programme of Amnesty International. In this role she leads, guides and supports collaborative strategic litigation that all Amnesty International’s sections, national offices and thematic global teams are undertaking to achieve the goals and objectives of the organisation across various programmatic thematic areas of human rights. Beyond this position, Mandi has worked extensively over the past the past 14 years in the social justice legal sector and public interest law where she specialises in using strategic litigation as a tool for justice, substantive equality and accountability. She has initiated and supported precedent setting public interest cases in various domestic, regional, International Courts and quasi judicial bodies where she has, and continues to represent primary litigants, amicus curiae or other third party intervening applicants. Mandi holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Human Rights Law from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. She is currently the Vice Chair of the Canon Collins Trust.
