Biography
Lethokuhle Meyiwa, a current master’s student in MSW, is pursuing his dissertation on challenges in the reintegration of children following sexual abuse: Experiences of social service practitioners in Johannesburg. Meyiwa comes from a community driven by social issues, which include substance abuse and school dropouts, which drives his passion for youth leadership and empowerment. He has engaged with CSA survivors through counselling and therapy, and also spearheaded leadership and CSA prevention projects through NGO placements. His interests lie in empowering youth in disadvantaged communities to become active change agents in challenging systems that continue to exploit.
