Biography

Katrina is a passionate researcher and advocate for environmental and climate justice. She is starting a PhD at the Environmental Humanities South Unit at UCT, studying the intersections of climate change and land injustice in South Africa. Prior to this, she studied a BSc in Biological Sciences and a MSc in Environment, Politics and Development. She previously worked as a climate justice researcher, contributing to political economy and political ecology approaches to just transitions, particularly in food systems. In doing so, she hopes to contribute to more just, transformative approaches to addressing the environmental crises of the 21st century.
