Biography

Katrina is a researcher and advocate for climate and economic justice. She is doing a PhD in the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology at Stellenbosch University, working under the SARChI Chair on the Sociology of Land, the Environment and Sustainable Development. Her PhD looks at the ways in which renewable energy is shaping rural geographies and agrarian political economy in South Africa. Before this, she studied a BSc in Biological Sciences at UCT and a MSc in Environment, Politics and Development at SOAS, University of London. In parallel to her PhD, Katrina works as a climate change and inequality researcher at Wits University’s Southern Centre for Inequality Studies.
