Biography

Karabo-Maya is an MA in Social Anthropology graduate from the University of the Witwatersrand. She was awarded her degree with distinction. One of her main areas of interest is Pan Africanism, having done her Honours research on Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe and his impact on youth pre- and post-1994. Her MA research focused on the experiences of Blackwomen in South African liberation movements, specifically the Black Consciousness Movement, the Pan Africanist Congress and Fees Must Fall. She intends to stay in the academic space and make the world of academia more accessible and reflective of the society in which we live.
