Biography
Jimmy Kainja is an academic and Senior Lecturer at the University of Malawi, as well as a PhD candidate at the Wits Centre for Journalism at the University of the Witwatersrand. His doctoral research examines how Malawian print media represent belief-based narratives, including witchcraft, vampire myths, and violence against persons with albinism. With over twelve years of experience teaching and researching media, communication, and cultural studies, he is committed to advancing ethical journalism and communication that uphold human rights and social justice. His work seeks to strengthen responsible media practice and foster public understanding across cultural and epistemological divides.
