Biography
Helga Jansen-Daugbjerg is a PHD candidate in the School of Education at the University of Cape Town. She has worked in the trade union education and social justice space for more than 20 years. In the last 5 years she worked in the youth and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) space. In 2014 until 2017 she was the Director of a TVET Bursary Scheme, and through this was able to design and pilot a TVET Graduate Attributes Programme. Her professional work experience includes as an education officer in the trade union movement and programme managers in various gender and media social justice organisations. Her interest in pursuing a PHD is immersed in her interest in social policy analyses and Critical Social Theory. She views the pursuit of a PHD as the culmination of work in the social justice sector.
