Biography
Happy Nkhonya is an early childhood development and education (ECDE) system thinker with ten years of experience supporting the development and implementation of ECDE policy, early childhood education (ECE) curricula, teacher education, and professional development in Malawi. He holds an MEd and an MPhil, both of which focused on ECCE system strengthening as a key strategy for addressing complex challenges affecting children’s learning and well-being, including the learning poverty crisis. Currently, Happy is pursuing a PhD at Stellenbosch University, where his research offers a systems thinking perspective on the continuity or discontinuity of curriculum and pedagogical practices between pre-primary and primary schools in Malawi.
