Dr Pityana has held leadership roles in both government and business, using his platforms to push for accountability and inclusive growth. He played a pivotal role in bridging relations between President Cyril Ramaphosa’s administration and the business sector, especially during South Africa’s anticorruption drive. As the founder of the Save South Africa campaign, he was instrumental in challenging state capture and demanding ethical governance—efforts that contributed to the political shift within the ANC.
