Biography
Dr Alisa Elise Lyagwanithwa Amupolo is the Chief Executive Officer of Namibia Desert Diamonds (Namdia), a state-owned enterprise responsible for the trading of ethically sourced Namibian diamonds. Under her leadership, Namdia has enhanced the global visibility and demand for Namibian diamonds. Dr Amupolo also serves as a Commissioner on the National Council for Research, Science and Technology (NCRST), where she contributes to shaping national innovation and research agendas. She is a Non-Executive Director at Energy Utility Holdings, further underscoring her diverse leadership across sectors. Her career reflects a strong commitment to excellence, integrity, and nation-building. In recognition of her impact, Dr Amupolo was named one of the top 100 African economic leaders under 40 by Choiseul 100 Africa in 2021, ranking 68th. Earlier, in 2014, she was honoured as a “Woman to Watch” by the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA).
