Cynthia Matonhodze
Biography
Cynthia Matonhodze is a Zimbabwean humanitarian photographer and teacher pursuing a Masters in Documentary Arts at the University of Cape Town. She believes in the power of visual storytelling to drive social change and amplify marginalised voices. Focusing on social issues since 2012, her photography has been featured in numerous publications. Now, Cynthia is expanding her storytelling through filmmaking to reach a wider audience. She is a graduate of the University of Zimbabwe and the Market Photo Workshop and a founding member of the Zimbabwe Association of Female Photographers, a platform promoting the work of female photographers. Cynthia is also a Magnum Foundation Social Justice Fellow.
