Biography

Carly Katzef has a professional and research interest in Family Strengthening Programmes targeting parent-child dynamics. The goal is to help reduce community violence and suffering. Her prior volunteer and current work experience is based on the WHO-funded programme, Parenting for Lifelong Health. Her work with families following a Psychology Honours degree revealed the deleterious effects of parents’ unresolved trauma on their children’s emotional well-being. Carly believes in the power of systems-level support and practical policy contributions in this regard. Central to this is an understanding of the challenges facing family strengthening policymakers and implementing organisations alike.
