Biography

Abongile Nkamisa is a Candidate Legal Practitioner at the Centre for Applied Legal Studies (CALS). She obtained an LLB degree at Walter Sisulu University. She has an interest in Human Rights Law and Social Justice Activism. She is passionate about using strategic litigation alongside policy to effect changes in law and policy. She also has a deep interest in understanding the South African constitutional and human rights jurisprudence to improve social justice and access to the law.  She is preparing for a career at the bar where she plans to join a community of legal scholars committed to transformative constitutionalism. She has dedicated her time to ensuring through individual and group initiatives that access to justice is facilitated for those whose material conditions still reflect the dehumanising conditions of poverty engraved on our society.
