The Annual Scholars' Conference 2022 

The Canon Collins Trust supports and strengthens a network of scholars, alumni, donors and civil society partners who are committed to social justice. Each works in their respective spaces toward a more open and just society. Yet theirs are labours that require community. Community offers solidarity, and solidarity inspires courage, resourcefulness and hope. This year’s conference creates a space for this community of change makers to be fuelled and inspired for the upward climb toward justice in southern Africa.

The Change Maker Award

Our world is in crisis. It needs committed change makers to bring their best forward. Thirteen scholars and alumni submitted their initiatives to the Change Maker Award. Alumni and Scholars voted and six projects have been shortlisted. The top six projects have created short videos to present their project to the conference delegates. On Saturday, delegates will submit their votes at the Hotel Reception. We will count the votes on Sunday morning and at the end of the conference, the top three winners will be announced.
