Zwelethini Eugene Xaba

Biography

Eugene is an International Lawyer working at the intersection of human rights and Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically researching regional governance of AI under the African Human Rights System. A Technical expert on AI, Robotics and other emerging technologies at the African Union, Eugene holds a Master of Laws in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa. Eugene will read a PhD in Law at the University of Pretoria investigating the development of Decolonial Legal Norms for AI in Africa and hopes to contribute to deracialisation of AI systems through an inherently Decolonial Legal framework.
