Makhosi Sibanda

Biography

Makhosi Sibanda holds an MSc in Journalism and Media Studies and is a firm believer of the empowering effect of alternative media in marginalised communities. Passionate about using media for good, he tackles men’s mental health issues on his podcast, The Men’s Conference. Makhosi is currently a PhD candidate at University of Cape Town, where he is studying the broadcasting policy in Zimbabwe with the aim of proffering a robust broadcasting policy framework. His research, published in peer-reviewed journals, spans community media sustainability, ‘Ubuntuism’ and journalism ethics, as well as the intersection of the podcasting revolution with the youth in Zimbabwe.
