Biography

Thobile Mavuso is a passionate teacher, cultural worker and artist, who has taught in different organisations since high school. She is the founder of Mind Liberators, a skills transfer and poverty alleviation organisation based in Alexandra Township, South Africa where she mentors poets; teaches visual arts, reading and writing, and assists children with school uniforms and stationery through her artistic practice. She completed an Honours degree in Fine Arts, looking at art as one of the methodologies for healing and aiding trauma, she is currently doing her MA in Fine Arts.
